ABOUT NATE
Nate Feldman has been immersed in martial arts since childhood, beginning with folkstyle wrestling before expanding his training into Kempo Karate, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). He began training in BJJ in 2010 and earned his black belt in 2018. He holds black belts in Kempo Karate under Master Steven Townsend (Kempo Karate Center, Springville, NY), Pancrase Mixed Martial Arts under James Wright and Jerry Roeder (MMA Belt Rank), and he is currently a second-degree black belt under Joe Hurst and James Wright in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a testament to his dedication and expertise in the martial arts.
In 2017, he moved to North Carolina to pursue his passion for teaching full-time in Jacksonville, NC. His dedication to coaching and mentorship led him to take the next step in 2020 when he purchased Martial Arts and More of Wilmington (Formerly Team JBM Martial Arts and Fitness), turning his long time dream into a reality.
His teaching philosophy centers on the belief that BJJ is more than just a sport; it is a catalyst for personal growth and mental fortitude. Nate creates a training environment focused on precision and mutual respect, where students—from beginners to advanced competitors—are challenged to refine their focus and master the art of discipline on and off the mat.
As a true a martial artist, Coach Nate is passionate about using martial arts as a tool for character development. He believes that the lessons learned through training—discipline, perseverance, respect, and confidence—help students, especially kids, navigate life’s challenges.
His goal is to create a supportive environment where students of all ages can grow, both physically and mentally, through the practice of martial arts.
At Martial Arts and More of Wilmington, Nate Feldman and his team are committed to fostering a family community vibe of strong, confident individuals, whether they are training for self-defense, competition, or personal development.
